One of the very few anti-nuclear nuclear engineers,Koide sensei rarely is invited on to NHK news programs, though he did make a brief appearance on NHK eduvcational TV. He attacks the government and Tepco for being overly optimistic, even lying The sins, by the way, are

He first explains how the nuclear industry has lied about the low costs of nuclear energy as they pursue nuclear self sufficientcy through the development of producing plutonium from uranium, which has constantly failed to materialize. He then goes on to explain how the government and the energy companies have done nothing to protect against the inevitability of disaster. Now that disaster has happened, he talks about how the government and Tepco have lied to the people, which causes the very panic and distrust he says they claim they are trying to prevent. He says they have broken the law in unilaterally revising the safety limits for exposure upward, and that the way things are going, an area close to the size of the whole of Fukushima should be off limits based on existing law.
