Assaf Adiv – WAC-MAAN – Out of about 15,000 drivers of heavy trucks, only about 1200 are organized within the Histadrut. The unorganized truckers include three main groups: veteran Israeli Jews, Russians whose Hebrew is not fluent, and Arabs. [bz]
 
 Temple movement rabbi advocating genocide
David Sheen – The Electronic Intifada – A group of Rabbis purporting to revive the “Sanhedrin” – the supreme Jewish judicial body which existed in Hellenistic and Roman times – have declared a “trial” of Pope Francis, US President Obama and various other world leaders on charges of “crimes against the Jewish people”. Speaking to followers gathered at a Yeshiva in the Old City of Jerusalem, Sanhedrin head Rabbi Yisrael Ariel called for conquest of all territory eastwards up to and including Iran, destroying all mosques and churches and forcing all non-Jews to choose between death or renouncing their religions.  World Bank warns of `high risk` of Palestine-Israel conflict
Ma`an – In a report released Tuesday, the World Bank pointed to war, reduced donor aid, the suspension of revenue payments, and ongoing restrictions by Israel as having had “a severe impact on the Palestinian economy.” “The persistence of this situation could potentially lead to political and social unrest,” the report said. “In short, the status quo is not sustainable and downside risks of further conflict and social unrest are high,” said the World Bank. The percentage of the population living under the poverty line has reached 39 percent in Gaza and 16 percent in the West Bank. It said the “Palestinians are getting poorer on average for the third year in a row. [bz]

Ma`an – “Does president Obama think he can beat ISIS or achieve peace and security in the Middle East by ignoring the constant Israeli occupation, settlement activity, and attacks on al-Aqsa mosque?” [bz]
 
 Smear campaign following Palestinian activist`s US tour 
Jewish Voice for Peace – Bassem Tamimi, Palestinian Human Rights Activist from Nabi Saleh on a 6-week US lecture tour, spoke to third grade class pupils at the BJM Elementary School in Ithaca. In the aftermath the school came under strong attack. The Ithaca School District superintendent listed as “egregious” several facts addressed by Mr. Tamimi, including that Israel has broken international human rights law, that in many instances Israelis have killed Palestinians in the West Bank and that Israel controls the resources in the occupied territory. The school responded by stating that “bringing human rights activists from various countries into the classroom is part of the curriculum”. [ak]
